Blog assignment #17

George Muller was a good man. He started a couple of orphanages in Bristol and he depended on God for all his needs and on how to feed the orphans. He came into full-time ministry at the late age of 70. But before his travels in the ministry, his wife had died in the 14th year of their marriage and was not physically fit for all the traveling that was laid out for Muller. Muller's health was phenomenal, considering his earlier ill health. In 1871, his daughter married James Wright, who helped him in the homes that he worked at. In 1872 Muller was re-married to a miss Susannah Singer who loved to travel and was a 'consistent christian' as he described her.

From 1875- 1895 Muller was using his missionary missions to preach to wider crowds about that he had learned about God. He also used this time to encourage Christians to become lovers of the bible and to test everything by the standard of the bible. Along with that, he aimed to break down the barriers of demoninations in the church. he became famous for many quotes such as; "It is quite true, I have sustained heavy loss, by these vessels being wrecked, but that is the very reason, why I give you so much; for I must make better use than ever of my stewardship, lest it should be entirely taken from me." this is a very powerful quote I'd say. He also preached in over 42 countries!

His travels totaled up to over 200,000 miles! That's a lot! He addressed crowds of up to 5,000 and spoke in German, French, and English. With every need Muller depended on God. He would pay for the voyages, yet no one ever knew what his needs where, because God provided for them all. Through out his ministry, his faith was evident in him adopting the city of Bristol and his death took Bristol to a standstill. His life and faith greatly impacted countless people across the world.

MY THOUGHTS:
  1. He's old.
  2. he did something great for the Lord that not many people did back in that time.
  3. i wish i had his faith, to be able to depend on God for literally... EVERYTHING. and not even worry about it.
